Junk

The Japanese have had a penchant lately for putting out some fantastic horror movies and zombie flicks, and Junk is no exception.

Following the bungled robbery of a jewelry store, the team of thieves head out to a not so abandoned military installation to meet with the local yakuza representatives and earn a place in their ranks. As they're about to be double crossed, zombies start coming out of the woodwork and it is soon an every man for himself situation as the secrets of the base come out and the dead hunger for the flesh of the living.

The movie Resident Evil could have been, Junk combines action, comedy and horror elements with nods to various other zombie films in a fantastic package that is fun to watch and quite enjoyable. The characters know how to shoot and don't let the fact that the zombies are killed by blows to the head escape them.

The different factions trying to survive are handled well and each character has their own distinct personality you come to learn and love as they fight for their lives. It truly is survival horror as you never know what will come out of the shadows next or who will be eaten. A great movie that is well worth a viewing for movie fans everywhere.
