| American Pie: Band Camp I paid no money for this film, I just borrowed it from my parents. Why they had it, I don't know. They liked the originals so I guess they figured it would be a good purchase, so instead of going out last night, I stayed in and checked this film out. The verdict? It's actually quite good. The film revolves around Matt Stifler, the younger brother of American Pie jackass Steve Stifler. Matt is trying to live up to his brother's reputation so he's pulling pranks and being obnoxious and in doing so, gets penalized by being sent to band camp to make friends with the people he picks on. He's got quite an ensemble to deal with. There's the blond drum major who used to be his friend, the psycho goth tuba player, the asian gangsta, a big black bass drummer and a nerdy techie roommate. There's also the dickweed drum major from a rival school who has it out for him. Did I mention that while he's attending band camp, he's also trying to get secret footage of them naked and wild to make a dvd out of to sell? It's a contrived and packed plot but it's fun. The jokes come fast and furious and the cast is competent, with special appearances by Eugene Levy and the guy who played Sherman in the first two movies. Does Stifler have a change of heart so he won't end up like his brother? Will his school win the band competition? Will we see lots of naked hot chicks? I can tell you the answer to the last question, and it is YES. Not a bad flick. Give it a rent. You might be surprised at how much you like it. |
