Movie Weekend

Okay, so this past weekend was movie weekend...(i.e. catching up on my Netflix)

First up, some pretty sweet magic and dragons in Eragon. Despite the crappy ass reviews on rottontomatoes.com, I thought it was a pretty fun movie. It is really all you make of it. Most of the reviewers said it was a rip-off of Star Wars (and I agree, it did have a Star Wars feel to it). But you have to remember, Star Wars was a rip off of other movies (Seven Samarai) and Greek mythology also -- so it is no different. I say get over it and enjoy the movie. I'd call it a cross between Star Wars/Chronicles of Narnia/Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings. So sit back and enjoy as things go boom!

Next up, we've got Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny. This movie was funny as hell! If you haven't seen it, go watch it now! And if you've already seen it, go see it again! It'll be like cum in your ear-pussies all over again!

I also watched Scooby Doo, which I hadn't seen before. It was pretty good, I thought it might suck when I first started watching, but it got funnier towards the end. Worth a watch, but don't buy it.

Next up: Epic Movie

Follow-uo: Ugh, what an awful movie that was...what a waste of time.

Don't do it. Don't watch Epic movie. It's really not worth it. The guy who played Kumar is funny, but that's about it.

It's like Date Movie, where it tries to do too much, instead of focusing on being funny.

Watch Hot Shots! again instead.

I think Hidden Fortress was what Star Wars owed a lot too if you're going by Kurosawa movies. Now Magnificent Seven, that was inspired by Seven Samurai. :)

Joel did warn you.

Yeah, too bad I got the warning after I had watched that bantha poodoo.

Just like a sucker-punch...

Yeah, that movie was okay, but not really worth watching. Kal Penn was funny, the White Queen was funny, and the chick who played Charlie on Heroes was annoying.

I wanted to pluck my eyes out while watching it. It was soooo boring and only mildly funny.
