Swing Low

I've been playing a lot of golf lately. Odd time, I know, it being the winter despite a warm spell. Fortunately, I'm not playing real golf, I'm playing Super Swing Golf on the Wii. I was never a golf person. I think the last game I played a lot was Golf on the Intellivision. I played some Mario Golf too but I was drunk and didn't own the game so that doesn't count. I'm a big fan now. I've never played a game as aggravating and as exhilirating as this one. Well, I probably have but I'm being dramatic so you can let it slide. It's amazing how everything can come down to a couple of feet difference between you and the opponent.

I'm digging it. The colorful characters and courses help as well. I mean, one of the courses is an aircraft carrier. That just fucking rock. Also, you can dress up your characters and one of them is a ninja. See, that sentence started off gay but ended with rock.

I've been playing more Zelda too. It's still awesome, probably the most awesome filled game I've played in a long time. It looks nice graphically and using the controls to swing the sword is like second nature. It's hard to go back to a standard controller. Just beat Temple #6 and I'm still pressing onward at the 30 hour mark. I love it.

Mini-Impressions of games I have from the holidays:
  1. Excitetruck: Fun arcade racer with amazing controls and courses. It's the type of game you can just pass around the controller with friends.
  2. Rayman - Raving Rabbids: Insane mini-games for multiplayer and single-player mayhem.
  3. Metal Slug Anthology: Sprite based side-scrolling shooter that can't be beat, and you have 7 games on the disc.
  4. Castlevania - Portrait of Ruin: Best CV since Symphony of the Night. The partner system can't be beat.
  5. Mage Knight: Fun turn based SRPG with its roots in Heroclix
  6. Contact: Quirky RPG with real time combat from Atlus.
That's it for now.
